I am retiring from one career and opening the door to a new one. I have volunteered in classrooms for a number of years. I realized that I always walked out thinking and often smiling.
My first career gave me plenty about which to think, but fewer smiles than I saw in even my brief weekly visits in classrooms.
The hours I worked previously also meant that children were in school and not in my office. So I am search of children who want "aha" moments, who have not even had "aha" moments yet or who may even doubt that "aha" moments can happen to them.
I plan to write about this adventure (and whatever else my professor requires). Apparently, you are joining me too, at least briefly.
